3 Simple Tools for Increasing Your Abundance

3 Simple Exercises to Bring More Abundance into your Life

When we get stressed and continually focus on what is wrong in our lives, a funny thing happens, we continue to get more garbage. In my coaching I have found a few simple yet very effective exercises which will gently put you back into the flow of life and allow you to experience your abundance much easier.

Gratitude Journal

One of the easiest ways to open up the flow of abundance is to let the universe know that you truly appreciate that which you already have. When we withhold our appreciation for our abundance as it is today the universe assumes that we don’t need anything better. So the exercise is to pick up a new notebook or journal, place it by your bed and either last thing in the evening or first thing in the morning write down 10 things which you are grateful for today. The important thing is to list is different items everyday, this will condition you to look for things to appreciate. You will also notice that throughout the day you will become more aware of the world around you. Here are a few from my personal gratitude journal to get you thinking.

  • A beautiful sunset
  • Laughter of kids playing in the neighborhood
  • Connecting with an old friend
  • Riding my bike in the twilight of a hot summer evening
  • Dinner with my kids
  • Playing golf with my son

As you can see they don’t have to be big or elaborate, but the appreciation needs to be genuine. As a side note, I have also found that if I can allow myself to appreciate a person or situation, which I previously felt anxiety toward, the anxiety is greatly diminished over time.

Shift Your Focus

Do me a favor and don’t think of a purple wolf, bet you couldn’t do it right. Of course you can’t, that’s because it is impossible to picture something not existing. The universe is the same way but we often forget this little rule. When we say we “don’t” want anymore of such and such in our lives the universe doesn’t recognize the “don’t” part of the phrase so we get more of the same old stuff. Also, when we phrase it in the negative we are acting as a victim but when we turn it around to the positive we regain our power which in turn allows us to change the situation. Read the following statements after each one pause and see how the statement makes you feel.

  • I’m so tired of never having any extra money, I don’t want to be broke any more.
  • I allow myself to have plenty of money.

Both sentences say the same thing however the first is projecting today into the future, while the other is bringing a better future into the present. As you practice this in your internal dialogue you will see your abundance increase with very little physical effort.

Practice Random Acts of Kindness

This one seems pretty obvious and simple on the surface but there is a twist actually, two, that often get overlooked. First off when you perform a random act of kindness do it merely for the sake of being nice and the way it makes you feel inside. That means do it without any intention of receiving something in return, don’t even expect a “thank you”. Secondly (and this is the tough part) upon completion keep it to yourself. Like I said a true random act of kindness is totally selfless. Practiced n this fashion these actions will open up the flow of abundance and will come back to you tenfold.

These 3 simple activities will shift your focus and open you up to all the abundance the universe has to offer. Be sure to be genuine and true to yourself as you integrate them into your life and you will be amazed at the transformation. These exercises together with a mentor or coach will propel you toward your goal quicker than you can imagine.

7 Letters Standing Between You and Success

The 7 letters are Y-R-T-T-N-A-W. These letters in and of themselves are basically useless, like having a box of nails without a hammer or some lumber. It is only when they are used as components to form words do they derive their power. When combined with other letters, they form words that inspire, empower and compliment. They can also inhibit, discourage and, in some cases, even paralyze.

These letters create two words. These words stop your flow of abundance in its tracks and all but guarantee failure in any area of personal development you are considering. These words allow you to create a mindset of failure before you even get out of the starting blocks. When you rearrange these letters, you come up with the words, “try” and “want”. Remove these words from your vocabulary and you will see an immediate shift in the results in every area of your life. Most of the time we are totally unaware of how our thoughts and words affect our success.

Many people use the word “try” as a verb, as in “I’ll try but I don’t believe it will work”. Using “try” in this capacity is to give up before you even start. The funny thing about “try” is that it is impossible to “try” anything. We either do or don’t do. For example, if one says, “I’ll try to pick you up”,the truth is you either will or you won’t. When we use “try” in reference to personal development programs, whether weight-loss, relationship or starting a new business venture, we are telling the universe and our sub-conscious that we really are not committed to success. When we rephrase it as “I will do it”, now we are putting positive energy behind the idea. We are telling the universe, “I will put in my best effort, please lend your assistance, because this is important to me”. When it comes to personal development, the word “try” always becomes a “loser’s limp”, allowing people to have an out when something doesn’t turn out as expected, rather than taking responsibility for not taking the necessary action.

The second word, “want” is equally detrimental. For, when we want something in our life whether its a cheeseburger or a million dollars we are actually stopping ourselves from having or experiencing that which we desire. “Want” keeps things out of reach and tells the universe that we are not ready to have that which we desire. When we let go of “wanting” and move into “allowing” we are telling the universe that we are ready to receive and appreciate the help.

Remember when we stop “trying” and start “doing”,when we stop “wanting” and start “allowing”, this is the point that all your goals begin to materialize. This simple shift in thinking will allow your endeavors to be successful.

Change Your Belief= Change Your Life

That which we accept as a belief in our lives creates our experience.  The more deeply rooted our beliefs are, the more powerful they become. Often times we don’t even know our underlying beliefs, but there is a simple test you can take to begin to reveal these beliefs. It is simple, yet that doesn’t mean it is easy. However, I promise if you follow me, you will be very happy with the results.

The first step is to look at your life and ask “which area of my life am I not reaching my full potential?”  Take some time to look at that area as an observer not a participant. Also, take note to see what the current results are and look at those results with love and objectivity, not judgment. The results are merely feedback, not good nor bad, not right nor wrong. When we begin to look at the results as feedback, we allow ourselves to see the situation as it is and we release our desire to find excuses for those results.

Once the area to improve has been identified, the work begins. Now ask yourself questions such as “what do I believe about this?”, “what do I believe I deserve in regard to this area?”& “what do I accept as true regarding this area?” One great way to find out your beliefs on any given area of your life is as follows. Begin by going to a quiet place where you can sit for at least 15 minutes, open up your journal or get a piece of paper and write the following sentence at the top, “My thoughts and feelings about _______ are as follows.” Then without censoring, write down every thought you have about that area you are focusing on until you have at least 20 items on the list. Once the list is complete, take a little break and then read the list. Remember this is about the potential for growth, not about beating yourself up. As you read the list, you should begin to see an underlying theme which ties all your thoughts together. This theme is your core belief regarding the subject in question. It may be difficult to accept at first, but as the realization that this is your belief becomes clear and you compare it to how your life is at this particular moment, I believe you will agree that your belief is what is creating your experience in that area of your life.

Awareness of our beliefs is a double edge sword as are many of the opportunities for growth we encounter. On one hand, we can’t believe that we would have such a belief that would be detrimental to our life experience.  Yet at the same time, we are so attached to our belief, that we resist letting it go, this however is our ego and not our true self that is hanging on. This is because often the fear of the unknown is scarier than the pain of the known. There is a simple exercise that can put you on the road to a new empowering belief.

Now that you know what your belief is, write it at the top of another page in your journal. Then periodically throughout the day, read the belief that is written down and ask yourself the following questions: “Does this belief serve me?” , “Is this a belief that I want to base my life around?” and “What new belief can I replace the current one with that will be more beneficial to me?”  These questions will allow you to make a gentle and lasting shift in what you believe you deserve in life, thus allowing dramatic results with far much less effort. Please note that I said less effort not less work. You will still need to take action, but the action will be in line with your beliefs thereby allowing you to obtain what you desire.

Trancend Failure-Starting Now

Do you know there is a simple way to regain your power in any situation? This is not a secret or trick, it is a tried and true method. This method is available to you, anytime you feel fear or apprehension about a particular situation. When you feel unsure about the potential outcome because you fear it may turn out less than desirable. This simple solution can catapult you to success in any area of your life.

The solution to your lack of success in any area of your life is (drum roll please). Allow yourself to fail, I know what your thinking, “great advice from a life coach”, but let me explain. When we begin to work on a goal or project, the further along the path one proceeds the more attached to we become to the final outcome. At first its like a small pebble but eventually it is like dragging a large boulder up a hill. We can become so committed to a project’s success that just the thought of failure will create just that “failure”.

Now what if we take the same project and are merely committed to the project and our efforts alone and we allow the project to turn out as it will. Making corrections along the way as the need arises but always focusing on the task at hand. When we allow ourselves to fail at anything in life we also allow success, creativity and the universe to become active in the project.

When you allow failure you remove any power it has over you and the ultimate outcome, the results will be amazing. You will experience things almost magically falling into place. You will find inspiration at the most interesting time and places, inspiration which when acted upon will bring your goal closer to realization. This inspiration will show you ways to complete tasks on the journey, that if you were in a different mindset, probably would have left this goal, like so many others, dead in its tracks. You will have people, some from your past and some you have just met help you in ways you never would have thought of before.

By allowing ourselves to fail we are actually allowing ourselves to succeed. We are putting ourselves in the flow of life and when we do that the universe will give us everything we need to succeed. Making success not only effortless, not to say there won’t be work to do, but success will be all but guaranteed. We will be able to follow a path that has already been laid out for us all we need is to take the appropriate inspired action.

So to sum it up, create a plan to complete your project and allow yourself to fail and I guarantee your results will be nothing short of amazing.
